Our Team
Dr. Steven Mo is the Chief Executive Officer of Biostone, bringing decades of strategic and operational leadership from the world’s top healthcare and consulting enterprises. A Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Mo holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Oxford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from MIT, having studied under five Nobel Laureates. His career is defined by driving high-level corporate strategy and operational scaling, grounded in his experience at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He has held prominent senior executive roles at four Fortune Global 500 companies, including: Chief Health Officer at Fosun, SVP and Chief Strategy Officer at Ping An Health, Chief Health Innovation Officer at Taikang Pension, and VP of Operations and Market Strategy at Optum/UnitedHealth Group.
Dr. Wei-Jen Lo is the Chief Scientific Officer and primary architect behind Biostone’s proprietary technology. He drives the company’s material science innovation and clinical balancing while overseeing global regulatory compliance (FDA/ISO) and ongoing product development. Dr. Lo holds a Ph.D. in Biomaterials from the University of Nottingham and previously served as Chief Scientific Officer at Orthogem Ltd., where he led the successful development of advanced synthetic bone graft products.

Our Journey
Biostone was established in 2017 by Dr Wei-Jen Lo at BioCity of Nottingham, UK.
The development of our first synthetic bone graft product was based on ignored, yet obvious natures of bone remodelling mechanisms.
si-Mochi contains multi porous bi-phase Calcium Phosphate ceramic granules suspended in an aqueous polymer carrier gel. The putty is pre-packed into different applicators for ease of use in wide range of bone graft applications.
In April 2021, Biostone received US FDA 510k clearance for their first synthetic bone graft product, si-Mochi.

At the beginning of 2023, Biostone received MDSAP certification.
Biostone has filed for a second FDA 510k submission to increase the Indications for Use for si-Mochi.
